Rhone-Alpes - Luxury

Rhone-Alpes is France's largest region and offers some of the country's most beautiful scenery to its visitors of the Rhone river, the Alps, and pretty wine villages.

Lyon features many historic buildings and traboules, or passageways, that run underneath the city's townhouses. One such building where visitors can tour traboules is the Rue de Boeuf, which has lovely traboules, spiral staircases, towers and facades. Lyon sits at the convergence of the Saone and Rhone rivers and offers a spectacular view to its visitors.

Lyon offers numerous fine dining restaurants to its visitors. At Nicholas Le Bec, patrons can enjoy a delicious menu which is constantly changing with the seasons and the chef's own ambitions. Some of the restaurant's famed dishes include risotto, duck foie gras, and black figs with roast crayfish. Comptoir Abel is a restaurant located in a 400-year-old house and is one of Lyon's most filmed and photographed restaurants; specialties include the salade lyonnaise, a green salad with homemade croutons and a poached egg, and the rognons madere, kidneys in a madeira sauce.

In winter, visitors to Rhone-Alpes can enjoy some of the world's best skiing in Grenoble. Grenoble is also the home of the Musee de Grenoble, one of France's oldest museums and its first museum to concentrate on modern art. Featured artists include Matisse, Signac, Derain, Ernst and Miro.

Visitors can see the Chateau de Menthon-St-Bernad in Annecy. This structure looks like a fairy tale castle and has been carefully restored by its current owner. The interior of the castle includes elaborate tapestries, Romanesque frescoes, Netherlandish sideboards, and heraldic motifs.

Visitors to Rhone-Alpes will find our accommodations both luxurious and reasonably priced. Visitors can enjoy the luxurious rooms and amenities at one of our houses, apartments, chalets or gite. Many properties include Jacuzzi tubs and saunas and some properties include a private barbeque area for intimate dining. Maid service is also available for a small additional fee at many locations.
